Metro Token Phase-Out
Effective May 15, 2018 – Metro will discontinue supplying tokens to TAP vendors and Metro Customer Centers. Tokens will continue to be accepted on board bus and for rail trips through November 29, 2019. In the future customers who use tokens will need to pay with cash or obtain and use a TAP card and add Stored Value or a pass to pay their fares.

1. TAP Vending Machines (Metro Rail, Orange Line, Silver Line and El Monte stations)
2. Online at TAPTOGO.net or by calling 866.TAPTOGO (827.8646)
3. Metro Customer Centers
4. 400+ TAP vendor locations throughout LA County
5. Effective July 15, 2018, customers can purchase onboard Metro buses (customers can make the
request by boarding the front of the bus and request to add up to $20 of Stored Value to their own TAP
card or by purchasing a TAP card and Stored Value from the operator)
